they are called patio pavers. i have goggled that word and found projects. also i bought a book at michaels called patio pavers I and II. also pack o fun magazine 2003 has a santa . you might beable to look up packofun.com to find projects. remember when goggling say ';free projects for painted patio pavers.Looking for directions/designs for acrylic painted decorative bricks used for door stops lady bug,turtle, etc.
www.diynetwork.com has a great searchable database but, The Carol Duvall show on www.hgtv.com featured several guests that paint rocks and bricks. They have pictures and step by step instructions with links to the artists
