Decorative creative painting techiques?

Go check out home depot, you might have to check a few to find one with a paint pro in the paint dept. but if you can find one they will be your best help.If you go sometime midweek around 10 or 11am more than likely they will have time to show you everything you need to know.Ask when they do their faux classes and if they arent doing them they will more than likely show you how its done on the spot.the also have a decent selection on DIY books for faux painting. They love teaching people how to do this stuff.Decorative creative painting techiques?
there are many of them like sponge painting ... best advice go to micheals or a craft store and ask there. they like helping people, and there is always a book or mag available to give you pointers.Decorative creative painting techiques?
your knee
There are too many to name. There are lots of great books out there in hardward stores and paint stores to give you ideas. I love stripes in any shape or form, colorwashing is really great too. I think that sponging is done though, there are way more attractive options. Just try it, it's fun and can always be painted over if it doesn't work out.
Try a faux finish!

Or look on www.behr.com, they have tons of great ideas.
The best thing about painting and techniques is that you can come up wth your own! Buy several paints and try different items from around the house and just play around and see what you come up with. YOu may even invest in a sheet or two of wall board (pretty inexpensive) so you can see exactly how it would look. Dont be afraid to use several coats! Underlying coats can shine through and drasticly change the effect! Not only will it be fun, but you can honestly say that you came up with the idea on your own. A great converstation starter for parties, too!
